About Us

Whites tree frog wearing a crown The founder of our conservation society, Mrs. Marianna Kelly, had a long-standing fascination with frogs for her entire life. She first encountered them through the pages of fairy tales, such as the "Princess and the Golden Ball" and "The Frog Price."

Frogs were readily available in the pond that bordered the back of her parents' property. She and her brothers and sisters used to wander on the banks of the pond, catching and examining tree frogs and then releasing them back to their natural habitat.

The sounds of frogs calling to each other was a music that she remembered through the years. However, she noticed about ten years ago that the musical sounds were quietly slipping away.

That is when she decided to do something about it. The New Jersey Pine Barrens Tree Frog was then an endangered species and she started the Tree Frog Conservation Society to help keep them from extinction.

The efforts of the Tree Frog Conservation Society has helped throughout the world in the conservation of tree frogs everywhere.
